Padang Golf Sukajadi ( PGI ) batam held a prestigious national golf tournament to be held December 14 to 17,2010. This golf tournament is bring into six events Even Gross men and women ( AA & BB ), Even Nett men and women ( BB & DD ) and Team Even Nett / Gross ( CC & EE ).

For event AA ( Men ) who will play 72 holes for 4 days, the first round held on December 4, 2010 and his second day cutoff to 40 players plus event ties. For AA ( Women ) will play 54 holes for 3 days, with the first round was held on December 15, 2010 and day two will be cut off to 20 players plus ties.

Meanwhile, for events BB, CC, and DD, will be played as many as 18 holes with a full shot gun on December 2010. Last even EE ( team gross ) will be played as many as 36 holes that lasted for 2 days.

The number of participants of this tournaments to reach 200 people who came fro Riau Islands, Riau, Jakarta, Bali, East Java and West Java. Coupled with the representatives and golf clubs in a golf academy in Batam and Jakarta.

Event the 1st PGI Amateur Open Golf Championships will be closed with Luncheon & Prize Giving Ceremony on December 17, 2010.

Karimun used to be under the power of Sriwijaya Kingdom until it fell in 13th century. Buddhism had been exist at the time, proven by an inscription in Pasir Panjang village. Since Malaka feel and replaced by Johor Kingdom, Karimun was used as the basis of navy power who fought the Portuguese, started from Sultan Mahmud Syah I period ( 1518-1521 ) until the period of Sultan Ala Jala Abdul Jalil Ri'ayat Syah ( 1559-1591 ).

After that Karimun was under the power of Riau-Lingga Kingdom ( 1772-1784). All that time, Karimun, espedially Kundur was well know as producer of Gambir and minerals such as tin granite,etc Karimun had developed become a trade area and rached its success at the period of Raja Ali Haji.
